Big Screen Rugby coming to your local klubb stuga

Ladies and gentlemen, we are all aware Karlstad Rugby klubb is moving ever more in the upward trajectory. But with all the renovations and all the tough work there was the realization that the stuga would remain largely unused during the off season. As great lovers of the sport of eggchasing it is a shame up until now we never had the live satellite feed at our club and having travelled west this year we found most clubs had some sort of set-up to allow members to watch the fine game.

The immigrant crew and roger took a trip to Stockholm recently for the Ireland V Australia game and over a few scoops pondered the glaring fact that we spent a healthy amount of cronies to in effect watch a game on TV in a city 3 hours from here. Anthony, Dave and Eamonn were vocal and the idea flourished that with the right amount of members on board we would have no worries raising the funds for such facilities.
We looked into ways to achieve our goal and have 2 options, both these options will cost circa 9,000 kronor per season for all the sports packages with sky, meaning we would avail of the following tournaments, Magners league, Guinness premiership, super 15, top 14, Tri-nations, Six Nations all the autumn tests and of course the world cup

The benefits to the club are incalculable but for all of us it means live rugby whenever you want and with there being a decent game every weekend from September to May, it will also ensure the social side of the club will flourish. We would be really keen that some of the older members and people who may have drifted away from the club in recent years would like to return to watch the fine sport and be back around this great club again. There isn’t much point spending an arm and leg rejuvenating this club house to leave it sitting empty for the best part of 7 months.
The initial calculations would need a max contribution of 300kr per person with this reducing the more we get on board, we also envisage that the price will be tacked on to seasonal membership from next season and should be 200kr extra or less, but we also see the value of this far outweighing the yearly cost. The list is growing don’t be left out….
